In lieu of searching the internet and "tweeting" on Twitter today, this is what I've been mainly working on all day, with of course the help of my daughter and one of my sons. However, I'm certain I will need to make some tweaks here and there as I grow accustom to using it. But for now, it's done.
HERE is my post when I first purchased the materials. Just to make things easier though, I'm going to repost the details below.
(from our local Walmart)
Binder by Mead $12.47
Trading Card Pages (35 pages, 9 pockets per side of page) $5.77
Slash Pocket Folders (5 folders) $1.92
Highlighters (5 colors) $1.00
Calculator $1.00
Scissors $1.94
TOTAL $22.35
This is what it looks like today:
For now I'm using the front pocket to put coupons in until I can file them properly. However, I may change that and put the unfiled coupons inside the binder in a large pocket sleeve, and then use this outside mesh pocket to put coupons INTO as I'm shopping in the store. This way they'll all remain safe and in one place until I get to the cashier.
Above are two pictures with the first showing you the contents of what is in the zippered pouch. There are three little compartments in this pouch and in the largest one I have a pair of scissors. In the middle are some label tabs, post it notes, 2 pens and 2 highlighters. In the smallest compartment, which has the mesh front, is a small calculator. The pouch came with the binder and is 3-hole punched for convenience.
These labels are nice because they are removable and can be stuck back on again if you need to remove them to rearrange them (like I had to do with a couple).
Notice I've used both sides of the Trading Card Sleeves to maximize space, however it is a bit more tricky when trying to remove one coupon from one side and not the other. The next picture shows the Slash Pocket Folder behind the coupons. I plan on using each one for a specific store to maybe put Catalina's in or store-specific coupons. They are also colored, so that will help differentiate between stores.
This is a picture of the left side of the binder when it is opened. It is an accordion style pocket with four or five folders. I plan to put the store ads and perhaps uncut coupons in these folders unless I come up with a better idea.
Well, that's it. It is by far as extravagant or as organized as some of the other coupon binders out there, but I thought it was a good start.
